Select Board appoints Dave Riley as Code Enforcement Officer through June 30, 2027; approves private pole permit

The Town of Acton Select Board voted Jan. 14 to appoint Dave Riley as the town’s Code Enforcement Officer, Local Plumbing Inspector and E911 Officer effective immediately through June 30, 2027.
Tom McGurty moved to appoint Riley to the combined roles; Ed Walsh seconded and the motion carried unanimously. Board members complimented the transition and cited training and support offered by Jason Sevigny in preparing Riley to assume the duties.
In a separate action the board approved a private pole permit for pole #12 at 763 Sanborn Road after a motion by McGurty and a second by David Winchell; that motion also carried unanimously.
What happens next
Dave Riley will serve in the listed roles through June 30, 2027. The town will complete any administrative paperwork associated with the appointment and the pole permit will proceed under municipal permitting processes.
