The Park Rapids City Council decided Wednesday to hold a special meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025, after officials concluded the council’s first scheduled November meeting would fall on a federal holiday.
City Administrator Angel Weasner told the council the original November meeting date conflicted with a federal holiday; the council agreed to schedule the special meeting on Nov. 12 to avoid the conflict. The discussion took place during a brief work session that began at 5:45 p.m. and ended at 5:48 p.m.
Weasner also asked councilmembers whether they had items to add to the upcoming budget. Councilmembers indicated there were no new budget priorities at this time.
On a separate item, Weasner raised a problem observed over the Fourth of July weekend involving downtown garbage cans. The council agreed that Weasner should consult with the Downtown Business Association about possible changes to trash-can placement or management.
The session ended when Vice Mayor Liz Stone moved to adjourn; Councilmember Joe Christensen seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. The meeting record shows the work session adjourned at 5:48 p.m.
