The curriculum committee previewed a draft K–12 health curriculum aligned to updated 2022 learning results and discussed chronic absenteeism and daily average attendance. Committee members said the draft does not require significant changes but welcomed additional feedback; committee turnout for the review was small, and administrators encouraged board members and the public to review the draft ahead of the next step in the adoption process.
Administrators also described experiential-learning initiatives in early grades (including an inflatable whale program and Dr. Seuss activities) and partnerships such as book-buddy programs and touch-tank visits that support social-emotional and hands-on learning.
Board members acknowledged the work and did not take formal curriculum votes at the meeting; curriculum review will continue alongside the budget and negotiations timeline.
