Council confirms Richard Green as assistant fire chief

The director said Mayor Kenneth J. Hopkins believes Green brings the experience and temperament necessary for the role and formally requested the council’s advice and consent.
Council members offered brief supportive comments, the clerk called the roll and the council voted to confirm the nomination. Council President Wall congratulated Assistant Fire Chief Green after the vote.
The confirmation places Green in the assistant chief role; any operational changes or reporting assignments will follow departmental procedure.
