Select Board hears updates on streaming, Mary Grant activities and cemetery work

Town technology director Dan Krampetz told the Select Board on Jan. 28 that recent video problems were often caused by cameras not being switched on, missed scheduling on Town Hall Streams and intermittent studio internet; he said weekly reboots have helped and that staff will record the Feb. 7 school budget meeting at the school.
Krampetz, speaking also as chair of the Mary Grant Committee, reviewed last year’s volunteer projects: a spring cleanup, trail maintenance and barn repairs, a pumpkin event that distributed about 75 pumpkins, and an Eagle Scout project that installed five bat boxes on the inner trail. The committee said it will not hold a community picnic again unless tied to a larger town celebration but hopes to run a summer “kids night out” on the Mary Grant property with wildlife programming.
Wayne Michaud, Cemetery Committee chair, reported the committee resupplied flags, received one headstone for placement and identified seven cemeteries the committee plans to tackle this year. Michaud said the committee discovered additional burial sites while doing fieldwork, and the board discussed posting cleanup schedules to the town newsletter and the committee’s web page and ensuring ownership records for private cemeteries are available.
Town Administrator Jennifer Roux reminded committee chairs that reimbursement requests and bills should come through the chair so expenditures follow committee votes and proper process.
Krampetz said he will post photos of the bat boxes online and add presentation materials to recorded videos when provided by presenters so viewers can see slides during meetings.
