South Bloomfield council adopts county tax rates, approves summer market dates and routine business

The Village of South Bloomfield council met Oct. 20 and unanimously adopted Resolution 2025-12, accepting the tax rates presented by the county auditor, the council recorded.
The vote on the second reading of Resolution 2025-12 was moved by Council Member Amber Murphy and carried with votes recorded in favor from Woody Blanton, Tom Ramsay, Lisa McDorman, Dena Cobb and Amber Murphy. No dissenting votes were recorded.
Also during the meeting the council approved the proposed dates for the 2026 Summer Market after the dates were submitted by organizer Katie Stir; Council Member Tom Ramsay moved to approve the schedule. The council waived the reading of and approved the Oct. 6, 2025 meeting minutes, and later moved to pay outstanding bills; both motions passed unanimously.
The council recorded routine motions by voice votes that were unanimous unless otherwise noted. No ordinances requiring further readings were introduced at the meeting.
What happens next: the resolution accepting county tax rates was adopted at second reading and will be filed as part of the village's fiscal records; the Summer Market organizer may proceed with planning under the approved schedule.
