On operational policies, Mrs. Lator reviewed changes to field‑trip policy 6153 and its regulation, noting the district shortened outdated lead times (the prior eight‑week submission was removed), clarified when student athletic events are excluded, reorganized trip approval and chaperone processes, and described the teacher→principal→district reviewer workflow; she suggested she will note out‑of‑state trips in her board report after superintendent notification. She also presented a streamlined summer‑school policy and regulation that shifts high‑school offerings to a flexible, staff‑overseen virtual option while middle‑school supports continue during the school year.
Committee members did not vote on the bylaws at this meeting; staff will incorporate requested wording edits before sending items to the full board.
