Council approves senior‑services ILA, drainage and skate‑park contracts in June 15 meeting

At its June 15 meeting the Anacortes City Council approved several routine and infrastructure items.
- Interlocal agreement (Item 6B): Council authorized the mayor to sign an interlocal agreement with the county for the senior services program covering July–December 2026. Staff said the agreement cleaves the center’s services from its meals program and that funding aligns city payments with the county’s approach to other cities.
- 17th Street drainage project (Item 6C): Stormwater program manager Eron Nester Holt explained the project scope change requiring floodplain and shoreline permitting and restoration work. Council approved a $24,150 contract modification to Osborne Consulting to complete design and ready the project for bid; staff stated this will increase the contract price to the figure presented at the meeting.
- Benroot skate park restroom and parking lot (Item 6D): Council authorized the mayor to sign a contract with CXT Inc. for a restroom unit and associated parking‑lot work in the amount of $188,577.77. Staff described delivery and crane sequencing requirements and said temporary portable facilities may be used while the installation is completed.
- Consent agenda: The council approved three consent items without debate.
Votes on these items were taken by voice and each motion carried.
