Robbins residents press board on microphones, narrowed street signage, dumping and school concerns

Ms. Echols praised public works staff, saying the crew corrects its mistakes, and reported overgrown bushes on Pulaski (off 135th Street) and illegal dumping at the end of Lincoln Lane. Ms. Gosa thanked volunteers and trustees for assistance with the turkey giveaway and noted that organizers provided 500 turkeys at the event. Ms. Sykes asked whether any trustees are connected to District 130's school board and expressed concern about changes that could affect students.
The board announced community services and events in the meeting: the Robbins Block Clubs flapjack fundraiser is Nov. 29 at Applebee's Crestwood; Thanksgiving Bingo and a book discussion at the Wm Leonard Public Library; TIFFPAX Career Day on Nov. 29 with free winter clothing distribution; a Chili & Cocoa giveaway on Nov. 29; and a senior Christmas party scheduled for Dec. 6 (sign-up at the police department, library or community center). The village also posted that the adjacent property program will not accept new applications this year and that final documents must be submitted to the clerk by Dec. 15.
Village Administrator Korie Dickson's written report identified donors supporting the senior party and said Robbins is preparing for an expected snowstorm, asking residents who park on the street to move vehicles so snowplows can operate. The minutes note Cook County vaccination clinics at the Robbins Health Center on Dec. 6 (appointments not required) and additional clinic dates in January and March.
Residents' requests for better audio, roadway signage and removal of dumping were recorded in the minutes but the transcript does not show any board commitments or scheduled follow-ups in response during the meeting. The village announced a public property meeting scheduled for Dec. 2 at 6 p.m.
