Waynesville council votes to give employees Dec. 26 off, recognizes departing council members

At the close of its Dec. 15 meeting the Waynesville Village Council voted 7–0 to give Village employees Dec. 26, 2025, off (the Friday after Christmas). Mrs. Connie Miller moved the measure and Mr. Zack Gallagher seconded. Chief Gary Copeland said employees required to work that day would receive eight hours to be used on another date.
Earlier in the meeting Mayor Earl Isaacs presented a proclamation honoring Mr. Brian Blankenship for nine years of service and declared Dec. 15 "Brian Blankenship Day." Mr. Chris Colvin recognized Mr. Lyle Anthony for his service filling a vacant council seat and welcomed Mr. Nation and Mr. Powell as the newest council members. The meeting adjourned at 7:37 p.m.
