The Village of Waynesville Council unanimously adopted Ordinance No. 2025-042 on Jan. 5, 2026, establishing on-street short-term parking restrictions at the Waynesville Post Office. Zack Gallagher moved to adopt the ordinance and Chris Colvin seconded; roll call recorded seven yeas.
Chief Gary Copeland, the Village Manager and Safety Director, responded to a council question about enforcement and said the restrictions will be enforced at all times, not only during Post Office operating hours, because residents access PO boxes when the facility is closed.
The ordinance was considered during the second-reading portion of the meeting and received no recorded dissent. The council also approved routine minutes and committee assignments earlier in the session.
The ordinance is recorded as Ordinance No. 2025-042 in the council minutes; the text of the parking time limits and any posted signage details were not specified in the minutes and are not included here.
