Village of Enon council sets Oct. 28 Beggar's Night, approves minutes and reviews $1.05 million in funds

Mayor Tim Howard opened the regular meeting and reported the village’s fund balances: General $185,000; Street $81,000; Police $332,000; Water $276,000; and Contingency $110,000, which together total $1,045,803.16.
Council moved two routine actions. Brenda Sweet, council member, moved to approve the Sept. 12, 2023 minutes with a spelling correction; Jeremy Whitacre, council member, seconded. The roll-call vote was Brenda Sweet Yes, Rick Hanna Yes, Dave Babcock Yes, Paul Avery Abstain, Ben Beair Yes, and Jeremy Whitacre Yes; the motion was approved (5–0–1, Yes–No–Abstain).
On a separate motion, Brenda Sweet moved to accept the Clark County-provided date and time for Beggar's Night (Oct. 28, 6–8 p.m.) for the Village of Enon; Whitacre seconded. The council voted unanimously to accept the date.
Mayor Tim Howard offered a brief communication recognizing Laura Ewing’s service to the village and wishing her well.
There were no items listed under New or Old Business and no public comments. Rick Hanna moved to adjourn; Brenda Sweet seconded, and the council voted unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 6:57 p.m. The minutes record the meeting as approved by Rick (President of Council) on Oct. 24, 2023.
