During its Jan. 20 meeting, the Waynesville Village Council corrected committee assignments and approved an appointment to the Chamber of Commerce.
Mrs. Connie Miller moved to remove Mr. Chris Colvin and add Mr. Blankenship to the Historic Preservation Board; Mr. Troy Lauffer seconded the motion and Council approved on a 6-0 roll call. Mayor Earl Isaacs then motioned, and Mrs. Miller seconded, to appoint Adam Powell as the Council's representative to the Chamber of Commerce. The appointment passed 5-1, with Mr. Lauffer casting the lone Nay. Mr. Lauffer asked whether Powell's wife serving on the Chamber board presented a conflict; Law Director Jeffery Forbes advised that it would not be a Village conflict because it did not involve Village operations.
Council heard committee updates: the Public Works Committee scheduled a meeting for Feb. 2 at 6:00 p.m. to discuss infrastructure projects, and the MOMS Committee discussed creating a Special Improvement District and potential funding through the Ohio Main Street Project, with Ben Yoder to be invited to a future meeting.
The Clerk of Council recorded these actions in the minutes; there was no public comment on the items listed.
