The staff report documented the building’s history, including its use as the Forte grocery store and ties to Italian-immigrant history.
James Hoerstad, who identified himself as the agent for the owner, asked whether the property was considered residential or commercial for grant purposes; staff confirmed current residential zoning. Commissioners expressed support and curiosity about other National Register properties in Louisville, and then moved and unanimously approved the probable-cause determination and the recommended HSA grant.
