Village of Enon council excuses absent member, approves minutes; administrator reports community items

The Village of Enon Council began its regular meeting on Jan. 4, 2022, conducted roll call and approved routine procedural items including excusing a council member and approving prior minutes.
On a motion by Jeremy Whitacre, seconded by Ben Beair, the council voted to excuse Brenda Sweet’s absence; the vote recorded all present members voting yes. The council then approved the Dec. 14, 2021 minutes on a motion moved by David Babcock and seconded by Jeremy Whitacre; that motion also carried unanimously among members present.
The Financial/Reconciliation Report was deferred to the next meeting. Administrator remarks included: the Mayor’s Court Report for December will be presented at a future meeting; a Records Commission meeting is scheduled for Jan. 25 at 6:30 p.m.; the village’s 2022 blood drive schedule was noted; a Nature's Work grant project agreement has been forwarded to Council Member Paul Avery for approval; Christmas decorations have been taken down; and village trucks are ready for snow operations.
Council President Rick Hanna also addressed recent community losses of Donald Huffenberger and Evelyn Madden. The meeting closed with a motion by Rick Hanna and a second from Jeremy Whitacre to adjourn at 6:54 p.m.
The minutes do not record public comment at this meeting or additional votes beyond the procedural approvals and the dispatch agreement recorded elsewhere in the minutes.
