City public works staff gave the council a multi-part update on operations, equipment and upcoming events.
Staff reported receiving a stump grinder attachment, a new Chevy pickup and delivery of just over 100 water meters to begin a meter change-out program. Public works said sanitary sewer cleaning is under way in preparation for liner work and that a jet machine is scheduled for delivery Thursday morning. Trojan Technologies visited the system at no charge and demonstrated monitoring tools for the city’s UV water system.
The council approved a request to use city property for events scheduled for July 25 and 26 (the transcript truncates the year). Staff said temporary-structure inspectors would inspect tents the following morning and that event organizers provided their own insurance. The meeting record also listed fireworks sale and discharge windows in the transcript as June 25–30 (10 a.m.–10 p.m.), July 1–3 (10 a.m.–11 p.m.) and July 4 (10 a.m.–midnight).
Staff also reported street and crosswalk base repairs, park cleanup work, receipt of quotes for additional security cameras, and continued work on year-end audit items. No public safety incidents or objections were recorded in the provided segments.
