At an October meeting the council reviewed a metal-building estimate of roughly $15–$18 per square foot for the exterior shell (quote cited as exterior-only costs); members said they preferred sticking with the original plan for a conventional building rather than an inexpensive metal shell. No vote to select a building type or to start construction was taken; councilors treated the matter as direction to continue planning and secure cost estimates and bonding/financial assurances for subdivision and service lines when applicable.
Connelly reported developer and resident offers of labor and assistance; the council asked him to follow up with the Planning Commission and with contractor/architect contacts and to report cost comparisons and schedule options at a later meeting.
