Commissioners discussed the merits of glass versus less expensive acrylic alternatives and favored the glass option to better showcase artifacts, while also weighing cost concerns.
Commissioners asked Guliani to look into comparable cases with the same features that might be less expensive. They set a decision deadline for the June meeting, citing an estimated delivery time of approximately six weeks after an order is placed.
Guliani also presented quotes for five 24" by 10" display panels to cover heat registers; he reported vendors offered similar prices and services and that the panels would be mounted on brackets and rotated periodically.
The commission did not record a formal procurement vote at the April meeting; members directed Guliani to research alternatives and report back at or before the June meeting.
