Pittsfield extends property-maintenance milling contract for three years

Jackson introduced the resolution and said the three-year extension will help the town and vendor plan expenses over multiple seasons. Vendor Rob explained the proposed pricing: “we're asking this year uh for the first year to go up 5% and then 3% each year for two and three.” He said the town will shift to monthly invoices for easier accounting but that the total annual dollar figure is essentially the same.
Rob also confirmed a small update to the contract to reflect additional mowing at the airport required since new hangars were installed; the extra areas have been billed to the airport tenant historically and will be specified in the updated contract.
Councilors said the multi-year arrangement helps budgeting and removes annual procurement uncertainty. The council approved Resolution 25121 by voice vote; no roll-call tally was recorded in the transcript.
What happens next: staff will finalize contract language reflecting the annual increases, monthly invoicing, and the airport mowing additions, and return any required documents to the town file.
