Ballston Board discusses water extension requests, disputed sewer connection and Town Hall HVAC

Regarding 271 Lake Road, Ryan said a revised Map, Plan and Report is ready and the Board could move forward with district formation and an escrow agreement. Supervisor Antoski noted the proposed Lake Road district would serve about 43 homes. Councilman Rob Fendrick asked MJ Engineering to confirm elevation and pressure comparisons to areas with known low-pressure problems so the Board does not inadvertently create additional pressure issues.
Sewer: Resident representative Wade Coton said the sewer main installation was dead-ended on Zani Lane roughly 160 feet from 32 Pearce Lane even though the original plan showed a property-line connection; the discrepancy is holding up the homeowner’s building permit. Councilman Michael Carota said the current configuration may prevent County acceptance of the line without redesign and that retrofitting to County standards could substantially increase costs; the Board asked the Town Attorney to follow up with the engineer and contractor and review legal/ownership implications before approving any quote.
Facilities: On Town Hall HVAC, Councilman Rob Fendrick recommended soliciting several quotes for replacement, and Comptroller David Urkevich recommended engaging an engineering firm for an evaluation given procurement rules (GML103) for projects over $35,000. The Board agreed the item will return to a future meeting with more detailed cost/scope options.
Ending: No formal votes were taken on the water extension requests or sewer connection at this meeting; staff and the Town Attorney will pursue engineering confirmation and legal review before returning recommendations to the Board.
