Prairie Grove swears in two new officers, public welcome noted

Prairie Grove’s City Council publicly swore in two new police officers, Dustin Lee and Curtis Harris, during its Oct. 21 meeting.
The mayor read the oath and asked each officer to repeat it. Officers Dustin Lee and Curtis Harris each said, in the oath, “I ... do solemnly swear to support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America” and to faithfully perform the duties of a police officer. The mayor and the chief of police welcomed the officers and offered brief remarks; the mayor also noted Officer Dustin Lee’s birthday.
Council and staff thanked the officers and local first responders for their service and welcomed the new hires to Prairie Grove’s police department. No formal action beyond the ceremonial swearing-in was required.
