Bannock County commissioners authorize disposal of outdated equipment, sign resolutions and approve grants

The Bannock County Board of Commissioners authorized the disposal of two county assets, signed two resolutions and approved a traffic-enforcement grant signatory during its Oct. 16 meeting.

Chief Deputy Clerk Carrie Hollingsworth asked the board to authorize disposal of an old court printer that has not been used in at least 18 months and a 10‑year‑old laptop formerly used in the jury office. "I'm just here to request the disposal of a couple of county assets," Hollingsworth said, explaining IT advised recycling the laptop and that the printer would be recycled by county staff rather than paying an outside vendor.

A motion to authorize disposal passed on a voice vote ("Aye" recorded twice). The clerk confirmed memos for disposal were available for signatures.

Separately, a commissioner reported that the board conducted the quarterly jail inspection last week and moved to approve the inspection report; the board approved the report by voice vote.

The board also voted to sign two resolutions, numbered 2026-41 and 2026-42, with no discussion recorded on either resolution. Staff flagged a signatory-only traffic-enforcement grant from the Idaho Transportation Department's Office of Highway Safety; the packet did not list dollar amounts. Commissioners approved signature on the grant and later approved the consent agenda, which included the meeting minutes as posted.

The board recessed the meeting until 11:00.

Next steps: memos for asset disposal and the two resolutions are to be signed, and IT will process the recycled equipment per county procedures.
