The Denmark Planning Board announced at its March 26 meeting that the planning-board seat on the Perley Mills Community Forest committee is vacant and invited any interested planning-board member to volunteer.
A board member described the Perley Mills Community Forest as including the Perley Mills Lot, Railroad Lot and Engles Lot and said the committee meets rarely and handles issues such as maintenance or replacing failed infrastructure when budgeted funds are available. The board noted a new sign was installed at Perley Mills and that the committee governs uses and maintenance for the community forest area.
The board did not set a meeting schedule for the community-forest committee at the planning-board meeting and suggested any matter requiring action would be brought to the select board if needed.
