The Denmark Select Board voted to accept a proposal from Sebago Technics to complete site civil survey, design and permitting for a proposed sand-and-salt shed and replacement fueling station.
The proposal, dated March 17, 2026, calls for an existing-condition/field survey, topographic mapping, site-plan design for an approximately 80-by-100 building footprint and associated fueling, driveway and parking work. The board recorded the total design-phase cost at $13,850 and confirmed the funds for the study are available from FEMA-appropriated money previously earmarked for the project’s planning and design.
A motion to accept the proposal was moved and seconded and the board voted in favor. Board members asked project staff to confirm whether soil-condition testing (beyond the civil survey) would be required for future design phases and noted that the site-plan work does not include geotechnical testing, which would be a separate procurement if needed.
Members also discussed a separate construction estimate for a metal building (82-by-102) the town recently received — roughly $227,471 for building and labor — but emphasized the current vote only authorizes the site civil design and permitting work needed to determine feasibility and siting.
Next steps: staff will authorize the Sebago Technics scope, confirm the survey schedule (anticipated to begin quickly) and return later with results from the survey and the site-plan deliverables for permitting and any soil/geotechnical recommendations.
