The mayor and planning staff told council these rezonings were requested by applicants and that the planning commission had reviewed the applications.
One council member raised a question about a large pond shown on the map and whether it was a wastewater detention pond. Planning staff clarified that the pond shown on the property map is part of the parcel and not part of the wastewater pond system.
Because council waived additional readings and adopted the ordinances in a single meeting, the rezonings are effective per the adopted ordinances and reflected the council's unanimous support.
Councilmembers recorded "yes" votes in roll call for each ordinance, and no opposing votes were recorded for the rezonings addressed on March 2.
