Owosso council approves $1,487,074.80 contract with Axon for police cameras, software and tasers

The Owosso City Council on June 1 authorized a comprehensive 10-year technology contract with Axon Enterprise, Inc., approving expenditures not to exceed $1,487,074.80 for body-worn cameras, in-car cameras, tasers, training and related software.

City staff told the council Axon is the sole-source provider for the bundled technology and that the purchase was included in the adopted FY2026–2027 budget. The resolution adopted a payment plan broken into five annual payments of $297,414.96 each.
