Board of Elections urges Canal Winchester residents to serve as poll workers for May 5 primary

Hannah Francis, the poll worker recruitment coordinator for the Franklin County Board of Elections, told the Canal Winchester City Council on Jan. 20 that the board "always struggle[s] to have enough poll workers" at the city’s four precincts and is seeking volunteers for the May 5 primary.
Francis said poll workers receive pay, training and, for some professionals such as attorneys or therapists, continuing‑education credit. She said flyers with sign-up information were placed by the council‑chamber door and asked the public to share them with neighbors and community groups.
Council President Laurie Amick encouraged participation, saying of her personal experience that working as a poll worker is pleasant and community‑oriented.
The Board of Elections is recruiting poll workers of all party types for the May 5 primary; interested residents should contact the Franklin County Board of Elections or use the materials distributed by the board to sign up.
