Planning director previews Miller Farms applications and announces library ribbon‑cutting

At the Jan. 5 Canal Winchester City Council meeting, Development Director Haire told council the Planning & Zoning agenda has a full docket, including a final development plan for Subarea A of Miller Farms (the single‑family portion) and a rezoning request and preliminary plan for The Estates at Miller Farms to the west along Hayes Road.
Haire identified Rockford Homes as the applicant for Subarea A and Willcox Communities as the applicant for The Estates. He also announced a ribbon‑cutting for the Canal Winchester Public Library will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the library’s new location, 123 Groveport Road.
Councilmembers asked about developer identification for future stages. Haire said builders are often identified after rezoning and development approvals: “I would imagine that will be the case, yes — that they will try to gain the necessary approvals for the rezoning and development first, and then identify builders,” Haire said.
The Planning & Zoning meeting referenced by Haire is scheduled for next week and is expected to consider the Millers Farms Subarea A final development plan and the preliminary plans for The Estates at Miller Farms. Council and staff did not take action on these items at the Jan. 5 meeting; they were provided as preparatory updates for the upcoming land‑use hearings.
