Centerton council approves multiple grant resolutions and contracts in unanimous votes

At its Feb. 10 meeting the Centerton City Council approved several resolutions and routine actions by roll call.
Key approvals voted unanimously included:
- Resolution 2026-04: express willingness to use Federal Aid Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) funds administered by the Northwest Arkansas Regional Planning Commission (motion adopted by roll call). - Resolution 2026-05: additional TAP funds (up to $500,000) for sidewalk projects (adopted by roll call). - Resolution 2026-06: application for Carbon Reduction Program funds for sidewalks and related connections (adopted by roll call). - Resolution 2026-07: authorization for the mayor and city clerk to execute an agreement with BSM (BSNA in staff materials) software to enable online payments for planning/building services (no direct cost to the city; transaction fees borne by payers). - Resolution 2026-08: grant a waterline utility easement to the Benton-Washington Regional Public Water Authority for installation of a water line on city-owned property. - Resolution 2026-09: authorize purchase of bleachers for the Kenyon Sports Complex (approximate cost $55,340); council discussed wheelchair viewing areas and staff confirmed paved viewing areas for accessibility.
Mayor and staff noted that some of the grant work is design-phase now and further grant applications and engineering documents will follow. Each item was moved, seconded and adopted by roll call; vote tallies were recorded as unanimous for each resolution.
