Centerton council okays animal shelter upfit, public works building expansion and land sales to ARDOT

Centerton’s council on Dec. 9 approved several budgeted contracts and land transactions tied to capital projects.
Resolution 2025-45 authorized an agreement with Milestone Construction (Springdale) for upfit and air conditioning at the Centerton animal shelter, not to exceed $134,000. Staff said $75,000 would come from the current year’s budget and the remainder was budgeted in the next fiscal year; the motion carried contingent on final attorney review.
The council also adopted Resolution 2025-48 authorizing Ellingson Contractors (Tom Springs) to expand the public works facility in a contract not to exceed $777,000; staff confirmed temporary lease arrangements for displaced operations are in place and the funds are budgeted.
Two separate resolutions (2025-46 and 2025-47) authorized the mayor and city clerk to enter contracts selling small parcels of right-of-way to the Arkansas Department of Transportation for the Highway 102 expansion (a Southland Ditch sliver and a parcel in front of the firehouse); council members said these sales would not affect existing signage or operations.
Council approved each resolution by roll call; several votes were noted as contingent upon final legal review of contracts or title documents.
