Centerton council adopts right‑of‑way dedication and rezoning ordinances for Johnson property

The Centerton City Council voted Jan. 13 to adopt two ordinances related to a Johnson property on Huber Road.
Ordinance 2026‑01 accepts right‑of‑way and utilities dedications shown on a property adjustment plat for Tommy J. Johnson and Susan Reed Johnson at 12600 Huber Road. Council members moved, held a roll call and approved the ordinance.
The council then considered Ordinance 2026‑02, which rezones roughly 5.95 acres of the Johnson property from Agricultural (A1) to Residential Estate (RE). Staff said the minimum lot size for RE is 2.5 acres and that the Planning Commission unanimously approved the rezoning at its Dec. 16 meeting without public comment. After a short question about lot size, council voted to adopt the rezoning ordinance.
Both ordinances passed by roll call; no amendments or public objections were recorded in the Jan. 13 minutes. The rezoning will change the property’s future allowable uses under Centerton’s zoning map and was approved consistent with the Planning Commission recommendation.
