Town schedules public hearing for Lawrence Street site plan; staff raises concerns about Yonkers warehouse and reports $400,000 in county sidewalk funding

Staff reported that Community Development & Conservation had filed two letters with the Yonkers zoning board raising traffic, open-space, hill-slope and disturbance concerns on behalf of the town regarding a proposed warehouse in Yonkers near the town border. "We raised many traffic, land disturbance concerns, open space concerns, hill/hillside preservation concerns," staff said, and promised to follow up with the applicant and Yonkers planning staff.
On capital projects, staff said Westchester County awarded a $200,000 Community Development Block Grant for the Doves Ferry sidewalk, bringing the town's direct county construction funding to $400,000; combined with about $1,000,000 in federal funding the project covers more than 90% of construction and is over 95% complete.
