The Zeeland Board of Public Works approved an employment agreement for Utilities Manager candidate Robert Mulder at its Jan. 13 meeting and agreed to forward the agreement to the City Council for its Jan. 20, 2026 meeting.
Chairperson Boerman asked Robert Mulder, the General Manager candidate, to step out of the room at 4:44 p.m. while the Board discussed his employment agreement. Mulder was asked to return at 4:49 p.m., after which the Board voted to approve his Utilities Manager employment agreement and forward it to City Council for consideration at its regular Jan. 20 meeting. Commissioner Walters moved to approve the agreement and Commissioner Cooney seconded the motion; it carried with all voting aye.
The meeting minutes record the board’s decision to forward the employment agreement to the City Council but do not include additional employment terms such as salary or contract length. The board recorded no dissenting votes during the motion to approve and forward the agreement.
