BPW approves $16,517 marketing amendment and two leadership development items

The Zeeland Board of Public Works approved several noncapital professional services on Jan. 13.
The board approved a proposed budget amendment increasing authorized spending with Yellow Lime Creative LLC by $16,517.25 to cover additional digital and print marketing services that were outside the original contract scope. ACM/Finance Director Plockmeyer said funding for the additional services was available within existing departmental budgets; Commissioner Query moved to approve the amendment and Commissioner Walters seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.
The board also approved enrollment of Brian Coots in the LEAD 24/7 leadership development program, a year-long cohort beginning March 24, 2026, at a cost of $12,000. The program includes cohort sessions, one-on-one coaching, assessments and an off-site retreat; staff recommended the training as aligned with organizational leadership goals. In addition, the board approved a leadership coaching proposal from Discover Coaching Services, LLC; the meeting minutes record the motion and unanimous approval but do not specify contract dollar amounts for the coaching engagement.
All motions on professional services and training carried with all voting aye.
