A communications doctoral student will deidentify and clean the data for analysis, with final student work due in August. Dr. Charlie Morgan will incorporate the cleaned data into coursework and Dr. Anie Ruhill will perform quantitative analysis; the code office's inspection reports were exported to Excel by new director Tom Pile, who expects verification to be completed by the end of July.
Separately, a member noted a draft city Community Reinvestment Area (CRA) ordinance had been circulated to Mayor Patterson and City Council President McCary for review. The draft draws on what is permitted under the Ohio Revised Code and currently casts a broad set of possible abatement terms; the member said the draft will be refined in consultation with council and administration.
On a procedural matter, the commission voted to move its monthly meetings from the current room to the Barry conference room (televised rooms and coordination with other commissions were a factor); the change is planned to begin in August, with the next meeting noted on the calendar for the 18th.
