At its Aug. 28 meeting the Castine Selectboard received several brief updates from members on planning and housing matters.
Roberta Boczkiewicz, chair of the Selectboard, said she and Ina had received good feedback after the last work session on the planned rollout for Comprehensive Plan implementation. No specific next steps or timelines were provided in the meeting minutes.
Dan Leader told the board that the Regional Housing Group was finalizing a request for proposals for a regional housing grant project. Leader did not provide additional details about the grant size, timeline or partners during the meeting.
Leader also said Dennett's Wharf hopes to hire 15 J‑1 employees next summer but will need places for them to stay. He said he is considering raising the issue at the next Town Gown meeting and suggested asking MMA whether it would be possible for Dennett's to contract about eight rooms for summer housing.
The meeting record does not show public comment on these items and does not indicate any board action beyond discussion and announcements. The meeting adjourned at 8:18 AM and minutes were recorded by Finance Officer Karen Motycka.
