The Castine Selectboard on Aug. 25 approved a $63,429.80 general fund warrant, approved a $1,767.40 water warrant and appointed Liz Parish to the town's Ad-Hoc Housing Committee during a short meeting at Emerson Hall.
Chair Roberta Boczkiewicz opened the combined work session and regular meeting at 4:04 p.m. and confirmed a quorum. After a brief discussion about boards and committees, the board moved into its Regular Meeting at 4:07 p.m.
Dan Leader moved to approve the General Fund warrant for $63,429.80; Roberta Boczkiewicz seconded. The motion passed 2-0. The board then approved the Water warrant for $1,767.40 on a 2-0 vote after a motion by Boczkiewicz and a second by Leader. Later in the meeting, Leader moved to appoint Liz Parish to the Ad-Hoc Housing Committee; Boczkiewicz seconded and the appointment was approved 2-0.
The work-session agenda listed several other items, including authorization for Surry, as fiscal agent, to execute an independent contractor agreement with Emma Weed as the Climate Resilience Coordinator for Peninsula Tomorrow, Comprehensive Plan implementation, a lighthouse lease and PFAS testing. Procedural motions to end the Regular Meeting and return to the Work Session were approved at 4:08 p.m.; the Selectboard then adjourned the Work Session at 4:46 p.m. Town Manager Derik Goodine and Town Clerk Susan Macomber were present; Macomber recorded the minutes.
