Castine Selectboard approves warrants, reappoints CHPC alternate and updates disbursement policies

The board also approved the Aug. 12 minutes (vote recorded 2‑0 since the chair was absent for that meeting) and later approved the Aug. 4 meeting minutes and Aug. 11 work session minutes by voice vote (3‑0).
The board reappointed George Trinovitch as an alternate to the Castine Historic Preservation Commission; the motion passed 3‑0.
Under "Other Business" the board adopted three updated disbursement warrant policies that delegate limited authority to a single municipal officer to sign warrants for: (1) municipal education costs, (2) state fees collected by the municipality, and (3) employee wages and benefits. Finance Officer Karen Motycka explained each policy lets the treasurer process certain warrants when documented signatures or certifications are present; the board approved the changes 3‑0.
No votes were recorded to change appropriations or staffing at this meeting.
