According to the board’s discussion, the NBRC application would seek $1 million toward an estimated $1.9 million project to address drainage, sewer and water needs on Perkins Street between Tarratine and Dresser. The board described a design approach that would remove the existing sidewalk—because it sits lower than the road—and widen the roadway to facilitate travel and provide parking on one side.
Board members also discussed applying for a separate Community Action Grant, described by the board as a no‑match award of $75,000 that could be used to cover engineering costs for the Perkins Street work.
