The Tinicum Township Board of Supervisors on April 7 asked the township Planning Commission to draft several land‑use ordinances and took multiple administrative actions, including adopting a banking‑authority resolution and authorizing bidding for roadwork.
Supervisor John Cole said the proposed land‑banking ordinance would reserve buildable area in new residential developments so homeowners would not need expensive variances to add porches, decks or pools later. The board voted to request the Planning Commission produce a draft ordinance and recommendations. Supervisors also voted to request a Planning Commission review and draft of fees for transportation and other municipal impacts consistent with Pennsylvania law.
Supervisors agreed to direct the township solicitor to draft and advertise a zoning amendment clarifying what qualifies as a kennel and to set a numeric threshold for the number of animals that would trigger kennel rules. The board did not set a timeline for the kennel amendment but said the ordinance would go through the standard review and approval process.
The board authorized solicitation of sealed bids for the 2026 Tinicum Township Roadway Seal Coat Program; Supervisor Todd Quinby asked staff to consider delaying action if fuel prices decline, and Manager Judith Danko said she would take that suggestion under advisement when reviewing bids.
The Supervisors approved the Parks & Recreation Committee's special‑event application for “Movie Under the Stars” on June 20 (alternate June 21), contingent on insurance and logistical approvals, and authorized a letter requesting Historic Committee participation in Upper Bucks County's America 250 Heritage Day on May 16 at the Erwin Stover House and Barn.
Finally, the board approved and adopted Resolution No. 2026‑6, a corporate‑authorization resolution designating authorized township banking officials and certifying banking authority and duties for Tinicum Township accounts at Penn Community Bank.
The consent agenda — including minutes, the February treasurer's report, March payroll of $86,660.22, and March disbursements — was approved by motion. The meeting closed with supervisors scheduling the next board meeting for May 5, 2026 at 7:00 PM.
