Tinicum supervisors approve parks survey, personnel actions and routine consent items; accept auditor resignation

Tinicum Township’s Board of Supervisors on Feb. 3 approved a package of routine actions and several personnel items during a meeting that also included a lengthy land‑use discussion.
The Board approved a parks questionnaire prepared by the Parks & Recreation Committee and authorized committee members to collect surveys at community events and at polling places on May 19; the committee will report back with results in July. The motion to accept the questionnaire and allow polling‑place tabling was made by John Cole, seconded by Todd Quinby and recorded as unanimous (3‑0).
Supervisors accepted the resignation of elected auditor Corrine Koch‑Blaydon and authorized Township Manager Judith Danko to advertise for a resident elector to fill the unexpired term, with applications due Feb. 23, 2026.
The Board approved the consent agenda—minutes, treasurer’s report, payroll of $108,554.35, monthly disbursements and payment application #3 to Loftus Construction for $42,323.04 for the Headquarters Road Bridge project—by a single motion (John Cole; second Todd Quinby). The motion carried 3‑0.
On personnel and public‑safety items the Board authorized a conditional offer to candidate Patrick Bastek for a full‑time police officer position, subject to Act 57 pre‑employment requirements; the starting salary was set at $83,299.79 with contract increases scheduled in future years. The Board also adopted Resolution 2026‑5 setting the municipal obligation for the police pension at a minimum 3% for 2026.
The Board authorized Tinicum Township fire police personnel assistance, if available, for the Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company Blaze of Glory 5K Run on March 21 and considered stormwater maintenance and monitoring agreements for two properties; motions on these items carried by unanimous votes where acted upon.
Several items were tabled for later consideration, including the Parks & Recreation initial term‑staggering proposal, which the Board did not act on that night.
The Board scheduled its next meeting for March 3, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. at the Township Building.
