Windsor board approves re-levy of unpaid 2024/2025 village taxes totaling $25,390.96

The Village of Windsor board voted Nov. 7 to re-levy unpaid 2024/2025 village taxes onto the 2025 Town and County tax roll with an 11% penalty, totaling $25,390.96.
Treasurer Patricia L. Harting presented Resolution No. 16-2024, which lists unpaid village taxes of $22,874.74 and applies an 11% penalty of $2,516.22, for a combined total of $25,390.96 to be forwarded to the Broome County Department of Finance. Trustee John R. McNulty offered the resolution; Trustee Edward C. McLean seconded it. The measure passed with Mayor Ronald G. Harting, Trustee McLean and Trustee McNulty voting AYE; Trustees James W. Miller and Thomas M. Skinner were absent. The resolution is effective Nov. 7, 2024.
At the same meeting the board approved routine financial actions. Trustee Edward C. McLean moved, and Trustee John R. McNulty seconded, acceptance of the treasurer's report; the motion passed. The board also authorized payment of vouchers totaling $68,474.85 on a motion by McNulty and a second by McLean; the vote was AYE by all who were in attendance.
Clerk Courtney J. Decker requested the board schedule a public hearing on a proposed Tax Cap Override; Trustees voted to hold the hearing on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2024, at 7:02 p.m. The board also approved the Oct. 3, 2024 meeting minutes.
The board recessed into an executive session on property transactions at 7:46 p.m. and reconvened at 8:15 p.m. The meeting adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
