Windsor officials repair major water leak, report multiple freeze-related service issues

Village Superintendent David M. Decker told the board on Feb. 6 that crews repaired a cracked ring on a six-inch water main feeding from the reservoir that had been leaking approximately 80,000 gallons per day. He said crews also addressed a leaking chlorine feed pipe in the pump house that required shutting off the building main to make repairs.
Decker reported multiple residents suffered frozen service lines during the cold snap; crews dug one curb box to shut off water where frost allowed and attempted to access another curb box but could not break ground due to frost. He said the village will complete online water-license renewals this cycle.
Mayor Ronald G. Harting said funds were collected to prevent a water account from being shut off for nonpayment. The mayor also said the village will meet with RCAP to review its findings and discuss options for future water system improvements and projects.
