Commission weighs proposed batting-cage location; Little League supports structure

"This will still be close to the fields, but not far away," the project staff member said, adding the design should "look like it belongs there" rather than resemble temporary pipe framing. Staff said they are collecting quotes and will present design options on materials and finishes for commissioner review.
Commissioners asked whether a proposed driving aisle or cross-access to neighboring property would encroach on parkland and about the road27s width and alignment. A staff clarifier said the connection is intended as a low-impact cross-access driving aisle to enable shared parking and future connectivity, not a multi-lane road.
A Fulshear Little League representative supported the chosen location, calling batting cages "integral to actually having an up-and-running league," and noted proximity to the fields improves awareness during warm-ups. Commissioners asked staff to confirm ADA circulation and sight-line impacts as design proceeds; no formal vote on the batting-cage placement occurred at the meeting.
