Beach clean-up set for July 11; Public Works to supply gloves, bags and refreshments

Beachwood's Environmental Shade Tree Committee reported plans for a community beach clean-up on July 11.
Maria Bird told the committee that she and Chair Ellen Harrigan met with Public Works Director TJ Wrocklage on May 12 and that he set the clean-up date for July 11 from 9:00–11:00 AM. Bird said Public Works will supply gloves, trash bags, trash grabbers, and snacks and drinks for volunteers. Bird also said Wrocklage requested the committee prepare a flyer and submit it to him for approval before the committee distributes it in public locations and on social media.
Bird said once approved, the flyer will be posted at the library, the municipal complex, the post office, on the committee's Facebook page and distributed at the Veteran's barbecue. The committee did not vote on a formal partnership agreement during the meeting; members said they will proceed with outreach after receiving the Public Works sign-off.
