Council approves committee minutes; Finance committee awarded demolition bid to MRD Group

The City Council on June 23 approved minutes and actions from several standing committees as part of the consent portion of its agenda.
The Finance and Property Committee’s June 16 minutes—read into the record by Jennifer Gossic—reported committee approval of a bid award for the Foundry 339th Avenue South demolition project to MRD Group in the amount of $18,700 and recommended approval of several retail liquor-license requests, pending normal qualifications and any delinquencies. The committee’s recorded committee vote on that item was two to zero.
A correction was noted in the council discussion: the bidder name in the minutes was clarified as MRD Group (transcript contained an earlier typographical variation). The council then moved to accept the committee minutes; the motion passed 7–0.
Council also approved the Public Works Committee minutes (with two illustrative discontinuance resolutions to return in July), Human Resources Committee minutes, and the Legislative Committee minutes (the committee vote had been six yays to one nay in committee; the council accepted the minutes on consent). There were no contested votes on the consent items at tonight’s meeting.
Next steps: the discontinuance resolutions referenced in the Public Works Committee packet will return to the council in July for formal consideration; staff will proceed with administrative follow-up on committee recommendations.
