Medina County commissioners approve slate of routine resolutions, authorize $1.69M in claims

The Medina County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a bundle of routine resolutions at its June 2 meeting, authorizing design contracts, personnel updates, grant applications and the settlement of claims totaling $1,690,948.11.

The board approved two Sanitary Engineer resolutions to hire Davey Resource Group for professional design services for the Grafton Road Stream Restoration Project and to declare the necessity of replacing the Medina Line pump station and force main and to advertise for construction bids. County Administrator Matt Springer presented two staff-related agreements, including a memorandum of understanding with Diplomat Healthcare, LLC for emergency placements of Adult Protective Services clients. Human Resources Director Holly Muren presented a personnel-change resolution, and Finance Director Brett Thomas presented four finance actions including transfers of county inventory, designation of excess property, allowing official expenses, and authorizing claims and issuance upon the treasurer.

All motions were moved by Commissioner Stephen D. Hambley and seconded by Commissioner Aaron M. Harrison; roll call votes were AYE for Commissioners Colleen M. Swedyk, Stephen D. Hambley and Aaron M. Harrison on each item.

The approved claims list authorized payment in the amount of $1,690,948.11. The meeting minutes state that these actions were routine and required no further discussion.

Looking ahead, the minutes list additional passed authorizations including a grant-agreement signature for an Ohio Department of Agriculture Land Use Planning Grant and submissions for Critical Infrastructure and Ohio Neighborhood Revitalization grant funding.
