Belgrade council approves mayor's advisory-board appointments after brief applicant remarks

The Belgrade City Council voted unanimously to approve the mayor’s recommendations to reappoint Diana Perry and Clint Stedman to the Parks Board and to appoint Lehi Madsen and Riley McDonald to the TIF Advisory Committee at its meeting that began at 7:00. The council heard brief remarks from the applicants before taking the vote.

Riley McDonald, a TIF Advisory Committee applicant who said he works as an architect, told the council he appreciates the opportunity to serve and that the TIF district can help bring projects to downtown Belgrade. “I just appreciate the opportunity to continue to serve the city. I mean, I’m an architect, so I just, this is what I like to do,” McDonald said.

Diana Perry, an applicant for reappointment to the Parks Board, thanked the council for the chance to continue serving and said the board is "gaining some speed." "I appreciate you guys considering me to continue on the board," Perry said.

Lehi Madsen, who identified themself as a CPA and former Manhattan Study Commission member, said they have experience with law and allocating funds and expressed gratitude for the appointment opportunity.

The mayor also asked whether Deputy Mayor Renee Mademois wished to continue serving on the Parks Board; the deputy mayor said yes. The mayor then called for the motion to adopt the recommendations; Council Member Christine Manicucci moved to adopt the mayor’s appointments and the motion passed unanimously.

There was no public comment on the advisory-board appointments. After the vote the council moved on to routine reports and other business.
