Pawnee City council approves insurance renewal, survey costs and reviews water projects and park updates

Infrastructure updates included a repaired lead service line leak on G Street reported by Foreman Spencer Cumley and an update that City Crew Member Lucas Barloon has about 100 homes left to visit for the EPA-required lead service line inventory. Cumley said a state reviewer will check the list before submission and asked communities not to submit before the Oct. 16, 2024 deadline. The council also reviewed a Gyhra Construction estimate (~$18,200) for drainage and culvert work at 18th & G Street and discussed possible budgeting now or in the next fiscal year. Council Member Eisenhauer reported pool-season activities and imminent installation of new playground equipment with volunteer assistance from Martin Marietta and a GameTime technician.
What happens next: the council will follow through on the survey mailing, process the salary ordinance through subsequent readings if needed, and track the lead service line inventory ahead of the October 16, 2024 deadline. Drainage work will be evaluated against street budget availability.
