The Batesville City Council approved a request from the Eagle Mountain Property Owners Association to install temporary rubber speed tables in the Eagle Mountain neighborhood.
City Engineer Damon Johnson said the HOA committed to purchase the rubber speed tables (made from recycled rubber) and to reimburse the city for staff time and any installation costs. Johnson recommended a temporary installation for testing community acceptance and traffic‑calming effectiveness before any permanent work. He noted the need for advance warning signage and asked for a contact number so residents can reach the HOA for follow‑up.
A councilmember moved to approve purchase and installation with reimbursement from the HOA; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote. The council required that the HOA cover the cost of required warning signs and reimburse the city's labor and equipment time.
